Care Assistant (Nights) – Residential Care Home (Newport)

Nurse Seekers are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential care home in Newport for a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant.

This role is ideal for an experienced care professional who is confident working night shifts and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care to elderly residents in a residential setting.

Hours:

·       Average 20 hours per week on a bi-weekly rota

·       Alternate weekend working required

·       Night shift patterns: 17:00–22:30 and 22:30–07:30

Pay Rates:

·       Weekdays: £12.60 per hour

·       Weekends: £14.24 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

·       Providing high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night

·       Assisting with personal care, mobility, and comfort needs

·       Administering medication in line with training and policies

·       Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and responding appropriately to changes

·       Maintaining accurate care records and handovers

·       Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment overnight

Requirements:

·       Previous experience within elderly residential care

·       Medication trained

·       Ideally, prior experience working night shifts

·       QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or working towards / willing to work towards this qualification

·       A caring, reliable, and patient approach

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a night team
