Job Description:
As part of the Assessment and Intake team within Southwark's Older People and Physical Disabilities service, you will work alongside Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Assistant Practitioners.

Our approach emphasizes strengths-based intervention, focusing on enhancing resident independence and empowering them to achieve their goals.

We offer comprehensive training opportunities, covering topics such as OT and the Law, the Mental Capacity Act, moving and handling techniques, and adaptations training.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a varied caseload in an autonomous manner.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend appropriate adaptations.
- Provide guidance on simple and complex equipment, including moving and handling aids.
- Stay abreast of relevant legislation, challenges, and developments within OT and social care.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies to facilitate holistic assessments and support residents in achieving their goals.

Requirements:
- Experience in risk assessment and recommending adaptations.
- Knowledge of providing simple and complex equipment, including moving and handling aids.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and developments in OT and social care.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies.
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
