Warrington Council are looking for a Family Support Worker to join their team.
The successful candidate will be working 37 hours a week over flexible working between the hours of 9 and 6, to support children and families to have supervised family time.
Responsibilities:
Assigned to a family and remain with them for the duration of their session.
Record the interactions, provide advice if requested and only intervene if necessary to ensure a child/young person's safety.
Observe, monitor and factually record the Family Time sessions of the children/young people, with their parent/carer - ensuring that the children and families feel supported to enjoy quality time together.
Follow safeguarding protocols to ensure the situation is swiftly responded to, to ensure the safety of children and young people.
Ensure any safeguarding concerns are immediately reported to a senior colleague as per protocol.
Liaise with other professionals as it may be necessary to enable decisions to be made to ensure the child/young person's safety moving forward.
Provide advice and guidance to parents/carers to support their care and interactions with the children/young people during the session.
Review information about the families' circumstances to ensure they are aware of the needs, risks, level of supervision and support they need to provide.
Contribute to the development of the service by listening to family's feedback, sharing information within team meetings and participate in training.
Plan own diary and work independently.
Transport children to and from some family time sessions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Must be a full licence car user and have business insurance.
NVQ Lvl 3 in Child Care or equivalent.
Demonstrable knowledge, skills and experience of direct family support work (1-2 years on-the-job skills and knowledge development) and the statutory responsibility of the Local Authority to ensure Children's needs are met.
Full clear Enhanced DBS.

Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Social Work Assistant to work in statutory area fieldwork and children with disability teams.
The successful candidate will work alongside Social Workers to provide advice and practical support to children and young people who are deemed “in need” under the Children Act 1989 or identified as in need of support.

The Social Work Assistant will have experience of working with children, young people, and families at times of change in their lives and responding appropriately, so they will need a high level of communication skills both verbally and written, as well as an ability to identify risks.
They will be skilled at resolving conflicts that can occur in multi-agency working and have experience of seeking the best outcomes for children and young people and their families.
Requirements
GCSE Maths and English Grade A-C or equivalent qualifications
A good working knowledge of relevant legislation
The use of a car would be preferable but not essential as the work can be throughout the country, and the post-holder will need to offer support to families when they are often under a considerable amount of stress.
