Job Description
Service Care Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority in Greater Manchester for a Year-End Accountant on a temporary basis.

The Year-End Accountant role is to support the Head of Corporate Planning with the provision of strategic, financial, technical advice and support to the organisation.

They will support the delivery of accurate financial accounting information, the MTFS and delivery of the Council's grouped statement of accounts in accordance with the statutory deadlines.

They support the integrity of the Council's core accounting systems and maintains oversight, control and interpretation of the Council's Balance Sheet to ensure the on-going financial resilience of the Council.

Candidate Criteria

• CCAB/CIMA Qualified Accountant with relevant PQE


• Experience of successful delivery of year-end accounting requirements to produce statutory accounts in set timeline


• Experience of successful delivery of MTFS, Capital programs, HRA budgets and a variety of complex technical activities


• Extensive experience of Local Authority finance


• Great communication skills with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
