Outbreak Support Officer

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Halton Borough Council, this role is for a Local Outbreak Support Officer to assist the council in to provide public health advice as well as contact tracing and telephone management of a caseload.

This role is working from home.

This role is a temporary contract, initially for 6 months which will be reviewed for extension following this time.

This role will involve:
- Form part of a team of Local Outbreak Support Officers who will provide a point of contact for those testing positive for Covid 19
- Record and report activity and contribute to the maintenance of effective systems for the surveillance of COVID-19
- Take responsibility for contacting a caseload of individual clients and any additional contacts identified.
- Identify, escalate and refer complex cases or incidents to the appropriate staff member of the Halton Outbreak Support Team
- Respond to requests in a timely manner as part of a rota system that will include evenings and weekends

Essential criteria:
- Frontline experience of working with members of the public in a customer service related role.
- Experience of undertaking interviews/assessments with members of the public and ensuring the timely and accurate recording of information.
- Must be able to work outside the typical office hours if required.

Desirable criteria:
- Experience in providing public health, other healthcare or customer service advice directly to members of the public.

- Awareness of contact tracing procedures.
