Support & Resettlement Worker

A large London based Housing association are recruiting for a Resettlement Worker at one of their homelessness services in East London (E2) to provide a support service to residents, with a focus on their resettlement in their own independent living tenancy.

The Service
This role is based in a recovery hub providing accommodation and support to homeless men and women, some of whom will have a history of trauma and complex needs.

Within a psychologically informed environment, service users are supported using the Recovery Model to stabilize their substance use and/or mental health, establish networks of support, manage their health, well-being, welfare and move-on towards independent support.

The Role
The focus of this Resettlement Worker role is to provide a high quality support service, supporting residents in to independent living and their own accommodation.

Additional duties will include:

  • Work alongside clients and other professionals to identify recovery focused goals and to co-produce support plans in order to achieve outcomes.

  • To contribute to the development of the recovery hub, by providing expertise in building resilience and working towards resettlement.

  • Provide all aspects of resettlement options, liaising with key partner agencies, facilitating multidisciplinary case conferences and negotiating access and solutions to securing independence, with move-on options.

  • To engage and build supportive trusting relationships with service users, motivating and empowering them to recover and improve their lives.

    To carry a caseload of service users who will need support to be prepared for independent living.

  • To undertake needs and risk assessments, identifying skills and abilities, then develop and regularly review holistic user led support plans, using the outcomes star to track progress.

  • To carry out screening assessments service users resettlement support needs, identifying strengths and an action plan to ensure successful and sustained move on.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Resettlement Worker role you will the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working with vulnerable adults with complex needs.

  • Experience working with in at one of the following areas: Substance Misuse; Street Homelessness; Mental Health; Offending

  • Understanding of at least one of the following: Trauma Informed approaches; Strengths based practice; Recovery focused support; Psychologically Informed Environments

  • Understanding of the causes of homelessness and its impact on individuals.

  • Knowledge of the benefits system

Due to the nature of clients you will be supporting in this role, you will require an enhanced DBS.

The Contract
This is a full time Resettlement Worker role, working 40 hours per week.

The role is on an initial 3 month contract with a chance of being extended or even made permanent.
