Quality Officer

We’re currently seeking a strong Quality Officer to work within our client’s diagnostics labs based in County Durham.

The Quality Officer will play a vital role in supporting the company’s already strong diagnostic testing and their COVID-19 projects plus play a part in society’s return to a more normal way of life by helping to break the chains of COVID-19 transmission.

The Quality Officer will be responsible for assisting the Quality Manager in the ongoing management of all Quality and Compliance standards.

 

 A few Key Accountabilities of the Quality Officer:

•        Support the QA Manager in maintaining compliance of the Quality processes and documentation to meet the requirements of the Notified Bodies/UKAS.

•        Support continuous improvements in the Quality Management System (QMS)

•        Provide support as required for all Notified Bodies/UKAS and Client audits.

•        Work with other staff to provide all the support required by the Operations teams, e.g., Work Instruction review, report review, QA statements, training, quality record review.

•        Perform internal audits according to the provided schedule.

•        Perform desk-based and on-site audits of sub-contractors and suppliers.

Current Challenges and Opportunities:

•        Support the development of the QMS to ensure that Regulatory requirements are met whilst maximising work throughput.

•        Develop and maintain SOPs etc.

•        Helping to train staff

•        Helping to implement a “right first time” culture throughout

Experience/Competence Requirements:

ü  Significant experience of operating within ISO Quality Management Systems of operational laboratory environments.

ü  Experience with a Quality Management System, Q-Pulse etc

ü  Experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders on all areas of quality and compliance.

ü  Experience in conducting audits and hosting external auditors.

ü  Experience working within a laboratory setting working to relevant ISO accreditation standards; ISO 15189, ISO 17025, ISO 9001.

ü  A team player, with good analytical reasoning, customer focus, communication and change orientation in a fast-paced environment.
