Building Safety Manager
A Housing Association based in East London is looking for a Building Health & Safety Manager to join their team.
This is a full time, Permanent vacancy and the successful candidate must have a full relevant degree level Construction/RICS/Health & Safety qualification, experience with large residential projects, experience with active and passive safety systems and ideally have experience in a similar local authority or housing role.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver a number of building safety projects from inception to completion.
Work in partnership with external contractors and consultants to deliver a portfolio of schemes which ensure that buildings within the stock are safe, secure and sustainable and that resident safety is assured.
To work with teams across the business to ensure effective resident engagement and communication across the programme.
To work with internal departments and Swans appointed consultants to attain external funding to support delivery of the programme.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the following;
Professional qualification from either RICS; APM; CIOB; RIBA or other relevant body.
Those working towards full chartered status will be considered where they are able to demonstrate relevant experience or hold a fire safety related qualification at Level 3 or above
An understanding of existing and forthcoming health, safety and fire safety legislation and regulatory standards, pertaining to residential buildings
How to apply the requirements of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 to building projects
Comprehensive understanding of project management; financial control and risk management methodologies
Excellent communication and customer service skills
The main responsibilities associated with the role are as follows;
To lead on the delivery of building safety remediation projects from commencement to completion, within cost, time, quality and other performance targets.
To identify and manage direct and indirect risks that are likely to affect delivery or create risk
Prepare capital budgets, revenue forecasts, cash flow forecasts, works programmes and ensure projects are delivered in accordance with agreed policies and procedures and other management tools.
Build business cases for remediation projects through the development of proposals and close liaison with internal teams.
Developing strategies for the decant or relocation of existing residents/commercial tenants/property owners, where appropriate.
Lead the development and implementation of a resident engagement and communications plan for projects including detailed resident consultation strategies in conjunction with internal and external teams.
Work with the procurement team to appoint appropriate consultants and contractors in line with procurement procedures.
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position, interviews to be held on the 2nd December 2021, and as such is offering a salary of between £52,000 - £56,000 per annum (depending on experience, skills etc.) along with a number of additional benefits.
