Learning Disability Support Worker

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Female Learning Disability Support Worker to support a lady within her home in Sheffield.

Temporary Pay Rate:

  • Standard Hourly: £12ph ltd

  • Bank Holiday Hourly: £15ph ltd

  • Standard Sleep in: £60 ltd

  • Bank Holiday Sleep in: £85 ltd

Hours and length of contract:

  • FULL TIME: 37.5 hours - must be able to work all shift types and be flexible

    • Earlies: 08:00 - 15:30

    • Lates: 15:30 - 23:00

    • Sleep in: 19:00 - 08:00

  • Initial 3 month contract (likelihood of extension)

  • The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP

Daily Duties:

As a support worker you will provide high quality and compassionate care to the service users and responsible for their general well-being.

You will be supporting a lady with Autism, a personality disorder and a history of trauma and she therefore displays challenging behaviour and her needs can be intense at times.

The successful candidate will be kind, compassionate and have a lot of patience and will also be medication trained.

Daily duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the person to reflect, learn and grow through each of the Activate domains using digitalised software.

  • Helping people learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.

  • Supporting people with their medication.

  • Helping, encouraging, supporting and teaching the people we support to do their housework, including cleaning and laundry.

  • Supporting, encouraging and teaching people to maintain personal and intimate care as required, such as dressing themselves, showering/bathing, using the toilet, etc.

  • Keeping written records, using IT systems as required, including support plans, financial info and health and safety records

  • Giving medication

  • Supporting and encouraging people to find opportunities in education, employment and leisure, and enable them to take part in these opportunities

Person specification:

The applicant must have recent experience of working with Learning Disabilities be DBS cleared and be fully COVID19 vaccinated.
