Learning Disability Support Worker

An exciting has just become available for a Learning Disability Support Worker to join a private residential service for adults with learning disabilities within Norfolk!

Temporary Pay Rate:

  • Standard Days: £11ph ltd

  • Nights & Saturdays: £12ph ltd

  • Sundays & Bank Holidays: £13ph ltd

Hours and length of contract:


    • 07:00 - 14:30

    • 14:30 - 21:00

  • Initial 3 month contract (likelihood of extension)

  • The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP

Daily Duties:

You will be working within a private residential service that supports 6 service users 18 years of age and over with Learning Disabilities and complex needs.

You will support these individuals to live as independently as possible and support them with the things they may find difficult in life.

As a support worker you will provide high quality and compassionate care to the service users and responsible for their general well-being.

Daily duties include but are not limited to:

  • Working as part of a team to support tenants to live as independently as possible within their own homes

  • Maintaining appropriate notes and records

  • Supporting tenants with all aspects of care including personal care: showering and bathing, dressing and grooming, toileting and continence care including catheter care, stoma care

  • Support with household tasks - hoovering, laundry and ironing, making beds

  • Support with medication where required - encouraging, reminding, assisting and administration

  • Ordering and collecting prescriptions

  • Diabetes blood sugar checks

  • Help with eating and drinking - including planning and preparing meals, helping to cook, food shopping

  • Answering the door and greeting visitors

  • Supporting with hobbies such as read, photo albums, games etc

Person specification:

The applicant must have recent experience of working with Learning Disabilities, be DBS cleared and DOUBLE COVID19 VACCINATED.
