Contract Length- Minimum 6 Months
Location: Birmingham Womens/Childrens Hospital.



  • The post holder will support the Clinical Leads and Clinical Service Director in leading and managing the performance of the clinical services in the delivery of planned service capacity through the effective use of




  • To manage the performance of the clinical group against local and national qualitative and quantitative service targets and within the Trust's financial.

    To lead and manage the assessment of complex operational issues and challenges facing the clinical services.

    This will demand high levels of judgement, analysis and interaction to agree clear solutions and recommendations that the post holder will be responsible for

  • To provide effective and innovative leadership and management, ensuring clear direction concerning service improvement and effective utilisation of

  • To be responsible, in conjunction with the Clinical Service Director and Head of Nursing, for the operational management of all the clinical

  • To deputise as required in the absence of the Divisional Director of

  • To act as the Clinical Group lead on agreed projects on behalf of the Divisional Director of Operations

  • To represent the Clinical Group at key Trustwide forums as














PROFESSIONAL




  • Take day to day responsibility and accountability for the operational running of the Clinical

  • Lead the Clinical Group to ensure national and local targets are achieved and that they meet the needs of the patients and fulfil commissioner

  • Develop and implement plans to deliver the relevant Trust objectives as

  • Monitor and manage performance to ensure that patient-centred services are of a consistently high standard.

  • Provide leadership and management to both direct and indirect

  • Have a strong knowledge of service improvement methodologies and keep these at the forefront of service development

  • PEOPLE MANAGEMENT


The post holder will be responsible for service managers within the clinical



  • The post holder will have leadership responsibilities for their respective clinical groups and will work as part as a triumvirate with the Clinical Group's Head of Nursing and Clinical Director

  • Staff leadership and management will:


Provide effective leadership and management to staff which promotes the Trust's values and high


performance standards both individually and as a team, in the achievement of the Trust's objectives and priorities.

The Trust's success will be dependent on all managers playing an active role to make sure the


existing areas of good employment practice are universally embedded within the organisation.

Managers will be expected to:


Understand the Trust's key priorities and those of your Department and how these translate within your area/team.


Ensure clarity and effectiveness in developing and designing
