Community Investment advisor

Contract - 5 month fixed term

The Role Summary

  • Our client is looking for a Community Investment advisor to deliver community investment across Essex to their existing customers and the wider communities.

With this you would partner with District Teams to design and develop appropriate community engagement initiatives and to promote community investment activities including outreach, training, employment, and resident engagement initiatives.

Your key duties within the role will include:

  • Support District Teams in developing and sustaining multi-agency partnerships across services to enhance the community.

    Work with police, councillors, council, children services, education, faith denominations, family welfare, health care and other partner agencies, ensuring smooth referrals and customer access to services

  • Provide customers the best opportunity to enhance their lives and reach their full potential living in our communities through well designed initiatives, collaborating closely with other agencies.

    This would include digital, employability, language, numeracy, financial, volunteering placements, entrepreneurship and wellbeing skills and advice.

  • Deputise for the Community Investment Manager to take responsibility for the day to day management of all Community Hub functions

  • Build training partnerships with providers to enhance customer lives, maximising their opportunities in education, employment, and the communities.

  • Support the Community Investment Manager with administration of community buildings, including building and fire safety and risk management, taking appropriate action to meet compliance and ensure health and safety for all visitors.

  • Promote and signpost customers to education, ICT, numeracy, language training, volunteering placements, entrepreneurship

Key requirements

  • Knowledge of local statutory, voluntary and community sectors.

  • Housing regulatory standards, good practice and updated knowledge.

  • Experience of working with the community or voluntary sector, including community development, engagement and investment.

  • Experience of partnership working.

  • Experience of working in a customer focused role.

  • Experience of partnership development and relationship building with other agencies.

  • Case management and complaints handling.

  • Planning and organisation, ensuring delivery of priorities and actions.

  • Safeguarding and vulnerable customers experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
