Senior Support Worker

WE ARE LOOKING OR A SENIOR HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT TO WORK EITHER DAYS OR NIGHTS ON A PERMANENT BASIS FOR A PRIVATE CLIENT BASED IN EALING, LONDON.

Permanent Pay Rate: £14.42-16.37ph ltd (£11.83-13.36ph PAYE) depending on qualifications.

Hours and length of contract:



  • Permanent position: FULL TIME DAYS OR NIGHTS ONLY: 36 hours per week

  • Earlies: 07:30 to 14:30/07:00 - 14:00

  • Lates: 14:30 - 21:30/21:45

  • Nights: 21:30 - 07:45

  • Weekends are worked on a rota basis, every other weekend.



Daily Duties:


This wonderful opportunity gives you the chance to work within specialist residential care home for the elderly and those with dementia.

The home cares for up to 32 residents with the aim of helping them to achieve the best quality of life and health possible.



As a Senior Carer you will take a leading role in ensuring that the personal needs of the residents are met in a way that respects their dignity and promotes independence.



Daily duties include but are not limited to:



  • Assist residents with their personal care needs.

  • Answer call bells, emergency bells, the door and the telephone: greet visitors.

  • Ensure the healthcare needs of the residents are met by liaising with GP's District Nurses, Chiropodists etc.

  • Assist in the care of residents who are unwell or dying.

  • Promote mental and physical activities for residents through the key worker system: by talking to them, taking them out and sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations

  • Help with the completion of Plans of Care for residents, new residents and help with resident reviews

  • Medication administration and recording of this

  • Help to ensure that rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned, maintained and adequately heated.

  • Lead, facilitate and participate in staff meetings, staff training, supervision, appraisal and development activities.

  • Carry out supervision and induction of designated staff as required.

  • Support the Manager in his/her duties as the responsible officer for the Home.

The home is really homely and comfortable, providing the residents a relaxing home to live and the bedrooms are large and comfortable.

The home is also has a fantastic “secret garden and is easily accessible.



Person specification:


At least 1 year recent care home experience, in date DBS, minimum Level 2 NVQ and experience administering medication.
