Manager: Innovation and Development

Calling all Innovation and Development Managers in the NHS.

Rate -24.17 to 27.19
Contract: 6 Months
Hours: 37.5 Hours




  • Lead on the delivery of system improvement at Place, driving operational, clinical and financial




  • To work with the place team and ICP partners to develop and implement the care models and locality plan, promoting innovation and integration




  • To work with general practice and other service providers to improve access whilst ensuring sustainability




  • To support the continued development of General Practice, Primary Care Networks and the Integrated Care providers/partnership This will typically involve improving out of hospital care, reducing pressure on emergency services (including admission avoidance), providing people with more control over their health and personalised care, sustainable primary care services, transforming mental health and optimising planned care.




  • To provide Population Health leadership focusing on place and communities and use Population Health Management to drive insights into evidence-based service changes




  • To work as part of the place team to create genuine partnership working with providers, LA and the voluntary and social enterprise sector




  • To develop and manage appropriate care models, governance and processes to support strategic decisions and activities associated with development of new care models which is consistent across the




  • To act as a key point of reference within the place for the directorate with the wider primary care and to ensure appropriate continuity, shared learning and economies of scale through engagement within the wider health improvement programme(s).

    This includes working with the council and public health around the wider determinants of health and care




  • The post-holder will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy - developing effective partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders to design and deliver innovative models of health care delivery.

    The post-holder will be required to adopt a highly flexible and adaptive leadership approach within a complex and ever-changing environment.

    The post-holder will also be required to exercise high levels of diplomacy and be particularly astute in identifying challenges and working with partners to broker effective solutions




  • Working with the strategic partnerships manager to coordinate the place based delivery of national improvement programmes including corporate returns and any planning




  • The post holder is responsible for delivery of Health improvement projects/programmes at place level.




  • The post holder is expected to implement a project/programme management methodology across all of our priorities, ensure the appropriate use of robust, information systems to ensure that all project documentation is stored and used effectively (PID, dashboards, highlight reports, evaluation, benefits realisation, risk and issues log).

    This is to provide sufficient internal and external assurance and will need to be sufficiently flexible to meet user
