The Associate Managing Director for West Birmingham will undertake a key role within the CCGs Senior Management Team, acting as a deputy for the Managing Director for West Birmingham.

The post holder will play a leadership role in the development of the Ladywood and Perry Barr Integrated Care Partnership working alongside the ICP SRO, Implementation Director and ICP partners to include primary care.

In undertaking this work the postholder will be required to establish effective place-based working within West Birmingham ensuring strategic coherence with both the BCWB ICS and across the wider Birmingham system.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support the development of, and promote the BCWB CCG mission, values, aims and objectives

  • To undertake a key role in the leadership team for the Ladywood and Perry Barr ICP supporting the development of the infrastructure for the ICP, ensuring effective governance


    To lead on the development and sustainable delivery of a variety of local transformation initiatives via the ICPs.

    This will involve the creation of short, medium and long term project plans to underpin delivery which realise benefits for both system and place including addressing unwarranted variation in health outcomes

  • To contribute to the development of strategic plans for the ICP which reflect the needs of the local population and seek to manage the complexity and uncertainty surrounding the West Birmingham footprint.

    This will require the assessment of complicated situations, options appraisal, decision making and delivery against a decisive course of action

  • To lead the effective coordination of major improvement and transformation programmes involving multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally to the ICP, which will impact across the whole system.

  • To work as a dynamic, innovative leader using a positive, strong influencing and coaching style to ensure the improvement programmes are coordinated and each run effectively and delivered to time and budget.

    Effectively manage budgets in relation to commissioned services and workstreams to ensure delivery of the above and to provide on-going assurance around efficient use of resource


    Have responsibility for driving forward specific corporate and/or cross-cutting programmes of work including the delivery of national programmes and transformation/service improvement projects in a complex environment.
