SEND Caseworker

Service Care Solutions are looking for a temporary SEND Casework Officer (Scale 6) to work remotely within the SEND Team for Worcestershire County Council.

You will be responsible for a defined caseload for the purposes of EHC assessment, EHC Plans and monitoring processes within the context of required policies and procedures relating to County Council.

You will also respond to general enquiries from parents and carers, schools, settings, and other agencies in relation to a range of factors relevant to Worcestershire's SEND arrangements.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge and experience of the SEND Code of Practise and relevant Legislation.

  • Experience of working with Children & Young people with SEND, their families, and professionals- 12 months in an organisation (School/ local authority).

  • A high level of understanding of SEND processes and case management, to ensure that the timelines set out in the Code of practice are always adhered to.

  • Experience at working in a multi- professional environment and being able to coordinate responses as required.

  • Excellent communication skills writing letters, dealing with complaints, writing reports, and undertaking difficult telephone calls.

  • Knowledge and experience of using the Capita ONE system, including the use of all Microsoft applications.

  • Ability to work on your own initiative.


  • Experience in a relevant area (SEN).

  • A relevant qualification e.g., NVQ Level 3 in health or social care or equivalent.

  • Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSE A to C) in maths and English or demonstrable equivalent.

  • To have attended relevant courses and training in health and social care.

Salary - £250 ltd daily
