Calling all HR advisors in the NHS, do you have previous experience in the NHS.

Are you looking for a new contract, based at home and also in and around the Coventry/west midlands area.

Pay rate: £16.57- £17.52 Per Hour based on experience.
Location: Coventry Occasionally but predominantly home working.

Hours: 37.5


Use specialist knowledge to interpret policies and procedures to provide advice to operational line managers and staff on a full range of Human Resources issues including, employee relations and recruitment and selection.


In conjunction with line managers, HR colleagues and other senior managers deliver against the HR plan which supports the activities of the organisation and meets the needs of the national/local HR strategy.


To contribute towards the development and ensure the implementation of national/local HR strategy, to develop HR plans to give effect to the strategy, ensuring where possible that this is achieved in such a way that it directly and demonstrably informs, reflects and supports the service plans of the Departments.


By providing regular updates and training ensure that all managers understand their HR responsibilities and are both encouraged and supported in discharging them, highlighting particular development needs of the manager.


Support and contribute to the design, development and delivery of training programmes with an aim to improve capability across a range of management and business areas.


Support line managers, where judgements have to be made, in dealing with HR matters such as complex disciplinary, capability/performance, sickness/absence and grievance issues, including preparation for and presentation of hearings and appeals.

Ensure that investigatory procedures are dealt within the appropriate timescales and carry out sensitive interviews which may require the use of counselling skills.


Communicate sensitive information and break bad news as necessary on a range of Employee Relations issues, such as long term sickness/ capability, disciplinary and redundancy matters.


Plans, collates and gives evidence at various meetings/hearings including disciplinary, grievance, sickness and capability.

To analyse and interpret information by compiling contentious and complex information into reports for disciplinary/ capability hearings/sickness reviews/grievances.


Communicate at all levels of the organisation including one to one, facilitating groups and delivering training.

To support the investigating officer at disciplinary and grievance hearings by presenting complex information and liaising with staff side representatives.


Through ESR, produce and analyse regular workforce information data including identifying trends, risks and bench marking.

Ensure information is presented in a way which effectively supports the decision making process and highlights any associated risks.

Propose and implement plans to manage against risk.
