HR Advisor Birmingham

Hi all, I'm currently recruiting for an HR Advisor at the Birmingham and Solihull mental health trust.

This role would be split between home working and occasional travel to the Trust headquarters.


Pay: £11 PAYE -£12 PAYE
Hours 37.5 Hours
Weeks: 3-6 Month contract then potential for perm opportunities!


The post holder will support the HR Consultant (HRC) in providing operational HR support and be responsible for the provision of a high quality, value adding HR service to managers and staff.


Provide advice, guidance, and support managers on a range of HR matters including; terms and conditions, re- deployment, absence management, and routine disciplinary matters.

Provision of advice on implementation of working better together and capability issues.

Seeking guidance and support where appropriate from the HRC's


Work with managers to reduce both short and long term sickness absence with the designated area.


Provide advice and support managers in undertaking routine Fact Finds and delegated investigations and internal hearings, as appropriate, in accordance with HR policies and procedures within relevant timescales


Under the direction from the HR Business Partner and HRC review HR policies and procedures, including equality impact assessments; support implementation and measure effectiveness


Support and assist the HRBP/HRC in the delivery of in-house training and coaching interventions to support managers in fulfilling their responsibilities in effective management of people and resources.


Provision of advice and guidance on terms and conditions of employment Advise on the utilization of Occupational Health and Wellbeing services


Participate in covering HR Advice line including HR inbox on a rota basis dealing with enquires and actions in a timely manner.


Assist in service audits as and when required Provision of project support


Work closely with managers and staff-side representatives.


Ensure relevant areas such as safeguarding, TSS are advised of relevant cases Update specific HR systems as required


Provide cover and support within the HR Operations team as required


Development and maintain provision of employee information Complete project work within a timely manager


Attend Employee Forums to provide HR input and support


Assist with the Development of project plans to support the HRC's Respond to general day to day queries within a timely manner


Maintain HR reporting HR KPIs data basis and use the information to advise mangers on actions which need to be taken to take necessary action as and wen required.



Support and coach managers in preparing casework and report writing


Monitor sickness absence and take action to ensure that managers are managing and progressing the case in timely and appropriate manner, meetings are undertaken, and letters and reports are completed.

Undertake sickness reviews with managers and employees where necessary, advising on appropriate remedies i.e.

re-deployment, phased return to work, ill health retirement applications etc.

Support managers at FRM
