Mental Health Support Worker

An Eating Disorder in Buckinghamshire is looking for a Health Care Assistant to join their team now! Offering consistent ongoing work either full or part time!

Temporary Pay Rate:



  • Standard Days: £11ph ltd

  • Weekends and Nights: £11.50ph ltd

  • Bank Holidays: £13ph ltd



Hours and length of contract:



  • FULL OR PART TIME CONSIDERED

  • LONG DAYS & LONG NIGHTS

    • Days: 07:30 - 20:00

    • Nights: 19:30 - 08:00



  • Initial 3-month contract length, likelihood of extension.

  • The manager is looking for the position to be filled ASAP

Daily Duties


You will be working within a newly opened eating disorder service providing treatment to men and women aged 18 and over with an eating disorder such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and atypical eating disorders.


Referrals will be considered for needs including, but not limited to, the following:



  • Those suffering from a primary diagnosis/suspected eating disorder.

  • Those experiencing significant difficulty maintaining a healthy weight in a community setting.

  • Those who have found that alternative community-based interventions are no longer appropriate or effective.



Responsibilities will include:




  • Observe patient progress against planned goals and report changes in the patients' condition or care needs to a registered nurse in a timely manner

  • Perform welfare checks, guided by the personal support plan, work autonomously, using assessment skills to identify any problems the patient is struggling with

  • Undertake individual care plans, personal, practical and rehabilitative including assisting patients with rehabilitation programmes - including personal hygiene, shopping and meal preparation, prompting with medication, support with daily routines

  • Give medication as required

  • Updating and maintaining documentation relating to the service users care to the highest of standards.



Person specification:


The applicant must be DBS cleared for the position advertised and have previous experience in the field.
