Project Manager

A Local Authority based in East Riding of Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a project manager to join their Major Projects & Infrastructure team.


This is a full time, temporary position and the ideal candidate much hold a degree or equivalent level of experience and successful completion of Prince 2 or relevant Project management qualification or equivalent relevant experience.


The purpose of the role is to provide high-level, skilled and experienced project management to the Capital Investment programme, transforming learning & life opportunities across the city.

Forming a senior team with the Assistant City Manager, Programme Manager and working with regeneration partners to develop a number of individual capital & Revenue projects through from inception to completion.

Through the delivery of sound business cases and the securing of suitable procurement methods to deliver a wide range programme including major regeneration, heritage projects, schools, city plan and city of culture legacy priorities.


The main responsibilities of the role are:


To support the development of the Strategy, Business Case, Delivery plan stages ensuring the promotion of the area to deliver Inward Investment Programme and align this with the Authority's regeneration, educational and social ambitions, linking directly in with the Assistant City Manager and Senior Project Manager to ensure a highly effective team.


To deliver against project development briefs in consultation with partners and stakeholders and others to progress option appraisals.


To work closely with regeneration partners to establish links and deliver joined-up, coherent and affordable regeneration plans including grant funding applications.


To present to others and implement, within and outside of the team, decisions made by the Board, Assistant City Manager, Senior Project Manager and Project Boards and implement strategy where appropriate within boundaries set by the City Manager.


Requirements:


Degree or equivalent level of experience, Successful completion of Prince 2 or relevant Project management qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
Evidence of continuing professional development and/or membership of professional body.


Proven experience of successfully managing and or undertaking a similar role in high-level, large scale, complex capital development projects in a comparable organisation (e.g.

Extra Care, BSF, LIFT, HLF, HAZ,).
Successful complex project management experience with evidence of project delivery to time, quality and budget.
Experience of developing and implementing strategies at a high level, meeting deadlines to high standards and in accordance with budget allocations.
Experience of successfully line managing and leading a project staff in a project setting
Experience in negotiating with key stakeholders / senior staff at a high level to successfully expedite schemes and proposals.
Contributing to the delivery capital projects, action and delivery plans and providing progress reports in order to meet defined objectives
Experience of change management in a complex multi-agency environment.
Experience of interface working between Public and Private Sectors.


The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £50 - £55 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx.

£1100 - £1190 p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
