Night Support Assistant

One of Devon's largest Housing Associations is recruiting for a Support Assistant to assist in the provision of support overnight within one of their supported housing services for those at risk of homelessness, in Plymouth

The Role
In this Support Assistant role you will be working nights, providing support to service users, where required, and ensuring the safety of the service.

This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • To assist in the provision of high quality support services.

  • To assist in ensuring services provided to our clients meet their needs and aspirations and comply with the standards and requirements of the organisation, our regulators and the law.

  • Play an active part in developing your own skills and abilities, seeking to continuously improve the way you deliver support services.

  • To attend staff and team meetings

  • Attend training, one to ones and appraisal meetings as required.

  • Comply with all relevant policies and procedures, especially Lone Working, Professional Boundaries, Risk Assessment, Safeguarding, Confidentiality and Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity

  • Recognise and value differences to create a culture of respect for all people.

    Challenge stigma and discrimination as it arises.

  • Carry out administration relevant to the role as required, e.g.

    record keeping, claiming expenses.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Support Assistant role you will require previous experience working within sheltered housing.

You will need to be able to deal with anti-social behaviour and have knowledge of a wide range of support needs, including homelessness, mental health issues, substance abuse and domestic violence.

Due to the nature of clients you will be supporting in this role, you will require an enhanced DBS.

The Contract
This is a temporary Support Assistant role, working nights for 35 hours per week.

This will be Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every odd Saturday, 20:30 to 07:00.
