Service Charge Analyst

One of the largest housing associations in the UK is recruiting in Croydon for a Service Charge Analyst to undertake tenant and leaseholder service charge calculations and ensure service charge costs are fully recoverable where eligible.

The Role
In this Service Charge Analyst role, you will undertake tenant and leaseholder service charge calculations in accordance with legislation and organisational policy.

To help ensure service charge costs are fully recoverable from all residents required to pay service charges, including tenants, leaseholders and other clients by preparing and completing accounts as assigned.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Calculate tenant and leaseholder service charges in accordance with legislation and organisational policy
, Analyse and authorise expenditure and coding of invoices, calculate service charge estimates to agreed timescales and assist with preparation of management accounts and annual budgets.
, Reconcile service charge related control accounts.
, Assist with the preparation of service charge budgets for new schemes liaising with internal and external clients to ensure management agreements & leases are appropriate.
, Assist with the preparation of annual service charge accounts (actuals) to agreed timescales, and provide information for external validation as required.
, Provide information for tenants and leaseholders in accordance with statutory and regulatory requirements, attending resident group meetings as required.
, Consult with residents on the variation of agreements to add the provision of additional services.
, Ensure that all relevant financial controls are maintained and correct procedures followed
, Assist in the development of the service to improve residents' satisfaction and business effectiveness
, Support the preparation or respond directly if necessary to enquiries, residents' complaints and correspondence.
, Work closely with other staff to ensure that a seamless service is given to residents.
, Maintain up-to-date and accessible records in all areas and provide information and reports on request.


, Assist with maintaining accurate records of reserve/sinking funds and replacement fund/depreciation for equipment replacement and future maintenance.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Service Charge Analyst role, it is essential that you are at least part qualified AAT and have at least one years' experience of service charges within Social Housing and/or Leasehold Block Management.
You will require excellent MS Excel skills to be able to calculate service charges and have comprehensive knowledge of statutory/legal requirements in relation to service charges

The Contract
This is a full time Service Charge Analyst role, on an initial 2 month contract, working 9-5 Monday to Friday.
