Application Architect

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an Application Architect for a permanent role for the West Mercia Police.

This is a Full time position.

The Application Architect is responsible for the efficient and effective design of any new ICT Service Applications to ensure they meet the needs of West Mercia Police and Customers.
The role will assist in creating a culture of perpetual challenge and continuous improvement in the delivery of internal and 3rd party services.

Main Responsilbities -
- To be responsible for the ICT applications architecture for Digital Services,
providing insight and direction during the full application lifecycle, including
planning, design, development and documentation of technical solutions.
- To undertake the role of applications subject matter expert for all ICT
change and provide technical support assurance and guidance.
- To ensure that the ICT applications architecture meets all the relevant
industry/national/legislative/compliance standards and demonstrates
consistency of design across all ICT related programmes and projects.
- To take responsibility for understanding strategic business requirements,
collecting data, delivering analysis, roadmaps and recommending options.
- Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups to ensure the
contribution of all relevant stakeholders is maximised

- To be educated to degree level (Level 6 in an ICT related discipline)
and/or certification in ITIL, TOGAF/COBIT, Prince2, or an equivalent
- Strong knowledge of full Application Lifecycle and Application Service
Library (ASL).
- Substantial knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 25000 (Service
Mgt), ISO 31000 (Risk Mgt), ISO 22301 / BS 25999 (Business
- Experienced in applying architectural tools and methods using industry
best practice.
- Knowledge of Application Portfolio Management (APM) for managing enterprise IT software applications and software-based services.

- Demonstrate significant experience of architecting applications in a
similar large complex multi-faceted organisation.
- Clear ability to think strategically whilst having a strong focus on ICT
technologies and operational service delivery.
- Demonstrate experience of translating user requirements into ICT service designs, being the subject matter expert from inception, through to delivery to the end customer.
