Assistant Planner/Planner

A Local Authority based in West Yorkshire is looking for an assistant planner to join their team.


This is a full time, temporary position and the ideal candidate will hold a degree in Planning or related subject and/or experience in a planning role.

The purpose of the role is to process a range of minor and other planning applications, certificates, pre-application enquiries and discharge of condition submissions.

As Assistant Planner/Planner you will be responsible for the processing of planning, advertisement consent, listed building applications and other planning matters; undertaking site inspections and consultations within agreed targets, timescales and priorities.



You will respond to enquiries from applicants, agents and developers; advising on planning and related permissions and the procedures to be followed.

You will discuss, consult and negotiate on proposals; prepare reports and formulate recommendations on planning applications.



Qualifications & Experience:
A degree in Planning or related subject and/or experience in the field.
Experience of dealing with a caseload of planning applications and planning processes.
Experience in administering planning controls and regulations.
Knowledge of planning law, policy and procedures relating to Development Management.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £18 - £19 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (approx.

£530 p/week NET after deductions) dependant on experience and qualifications.
