Housing Support Worker

One of the largest housing associations in Kent is recruiting for an experienced Support Worker to support their tenants across Sevenoaks in achieving independence and sustaining their tenancies on a six-month fixed term contract.

The Role
In this Support Worker role, you will be responsible for supporting vulnerable customers to live independently helping them to find the right home; understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.

This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Undertaking assessments and arranging for minor adaptations
, Providing resettlement service
, Advising and supporting clients to maximise their income
, Supporting clients to seek specialist advice and support where needed
, Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.
, Achieve positive outcomes for customers by collaborating with key stakeholders and partner agencies.

, Achieve positive outcomes in the management of empty homes, arrears and community safety through collaboration with colleagues.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Support Worker role it is essential that you have previous experience of providing a housing related support service with strong working knowledge of welfare benefits, budgeting and risk assessments in relation to housing management and allocations.
You will also need to demonstrate experience of delivering position outcomes with the elderly, those with mental health issues, learning or physical disabilities, DV, ex-offenders or substance abuse.

As this role includes work with vulnerable individuals, you will require an Enhanced DBS on the update service.

The Contract
This is a full time, Support Worker role, working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on a six-month fixed-term contract.
