Finance Officer

Job Title: Finance Officer - Payments
Salary: £27,591
Hours: 37 hours per week
Type: Initial 18 Moths Fixed Term Contract
Based: Sevenoaks, TN13

Role Responsibilities -
, Deliver bank reconciliations within set service levels and resolve any discrepancies in order to reconcile with the accounts system.

, Reconciling purchase ledger records to bank account records and nominal ledger accounts, to ensure proper control of finance systems.
, Ensure the accuracy, all purchase ledger system, including supplier records, with regular reports on purchase ledger suppliers to maintain assets and liabilities register
, Ensure value for money in all activities, including most efficient payment methods, such as BACS and finding solutions where this is not appropriate.

, Manage customer expectations while at the same time ensuring that each interaction is a positive experience for the customer who will receive respect, empathy and honesty
, Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns to avoid penalties, maintaining the CIS verifications with HMRC to comply with legal regulations
, Be responsible for data, handling and protecting confidential and sensitive data with integrity and comply with data protection rules and procedures at all time
, Pro-actively collaborate with colleagues to provide a cohesive service
, for our customers.
, Provide support and cover for payroll processing and checking of records.

, Ensure liquidity of companies by maintaining accurate records of future cash flow obligations.

, Ensure the proper use of procurement frameworks and obligations contained within the Standing Orders and Financial Regulations.

, Produce and ensure the accuracy of the monthly partnering reconciliations journal, and resolve any discrepancies in order to reconcile the partnering balance with the nominal ledger.

Essential Criteria -
, Highly numerate, literate and an excellent communicator
, Ability to assimilate, analyse and interpret complex information
, Able to collaborate productively with colleagues internally and external partners
, Ability to communicate clearly, both face to face and over the telephone
, Able to use Microsoft office packages, such as Excel, Word and Access and confidence to develop knowledge of software packages
, Ability to use the most appropriate style and method of communication with a range of internal and external customers and stakeholders
, Ability to prioritise competing commitments and work accurately and methodically under pressure
, Knowledge of Value Added Tax and Construction Industry Scheme regulations
, Demonstrable experience of identifying potential problems and taking appropriate action
, Demonstrable record of developing and implementing innovative processes successfully
, Good working knowledge of general data protection legislation
