Temporary Pay Rate:
, Standard Days: £10.75ph ltd
, Nights & Saturdays: £11.50ph ltd
, Sundays & Bank Holidays: £11.75ph ltd

Hours and length of contract:
, Full Time or part time considered
, 7 day rota covering days and nights
o Long day shifts: 07:30-19:45 (1h30 break)
o Long night shifts: 19:30- 08:00
, Support on a 24-hour basis therefore flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential.

Daily Duties:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work across a 50 bed hospital split into 3 units, 1 female only ABI unit, 1 male only Abi Unit and 1 mixed sex Huntington's disease unit.
The service not only supports those with an acquired brain injury (ABI) but also includes traumatic brain injury (TBI) and stroke, or a progressive neurological condition (PNC).

The aim of the service is to reduce challenging behaviour, optimise functional skills and promote quality of life of the patients.

Responsibilities will include:
, Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.

, Provide practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting
, Observe and monitor the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

, Provide specific interventions with patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse Eg- Observation and Engagement with Patients, escorting patients on leave, and being involved in de-escalation and management of violence and aggression.

, Participate in regular ward meetings and attend other meetings as requested.

, Assist in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products.

, Assist in the maintenance of ward cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times.

, Receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner and ensure all persons visiting the ward are greeted and assisted in a welcoming and supportive manner.

Person specification:
The applicant must have a clear DBS and have recent and relevant experience within a Mental Health setting.
