Call Handler Administrator

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Team Administrator/Call Handler to work in Oxford Cowley within a CAMHS Single Point of Access team in NHS on temporary agency contract.

Hourly rate £13.00Ltd (£10.71PAYE) an hour this is paid via an umbrella company weekly.

Hours: 37.

5 Hours per week Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Brief description of role:
, Handing calls into the Single Point of Access and processing callers information, requests for support
, Following the SPA script to determine the onward process for the caller
, To respond to email, telephone enquiries and written enquiries using a high level of initiative and responding in a confidential and sensitive way and action in the appropriate way.


, The administrator will be responsible for taking a huge volume of calls which are very difficult and emotive.

They will be speaking to suicidal children, parents of suicidal children and a variety of professionals such as social workers, teachers etc.

Admin are often faced with calls where people are extremely distressed, either at the wait times for the CAMHS service when their child is at crisis point which can sadly lead to difficult calls.

It could also be the parent or child extremely distressed because of the deterioration in their mental health and the difficulties they are having in managing it.

Thankfully it is rare, but there could also be occasions where a young person calls making threats to their own life.

Whilst we always have clinicians in the room to support with these instances, having a calm and sensitive nature and previous experience in healthcare are very advantageous.
, On top of all of this the admin side of things is very fast paced and the successful candidate will need to have the ability to work to very tight deadlines as it is quite a high pressured environment.

A good solid background in administration therefore is really helpful.

Qualifications or IT skills required: Good/ excellent Microsoft office skills
Essential skills:
, Proven experience of working in an office environment
, Ability to liaise with all professionals and levels in a confident and effective manner
, Ability to deal with the public in a polite and effective manner
