Housing Scheme Manager

One of the largest housing associations in Devon is recruiting for an experience Housing Services Manager to join their Support Services Department for 6 weeks to cover a period of sickness and be responsible for the performance, delivery, management and development of high quality housing management and support services across Torbay.

The Role
In this Housing Services Manager role, you will be responsible for the performance, delivery, management and development of high quality housing management and support services.

You will ensure services provided to clients meet their needs and aspirations The Housing Services Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the culture required for people to thrive and move on in their lives and will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Oversee recruitment in the services
, Have responsibility for the induction and training of new members of staff.
, Ensure regular risk assessment and health and safety procedures are in place for staff.
, Allocate staff duties.
, Promote teamwork including holding regular team meetings.


, Be flexible in your working pattern according to the identified needs and requirements of clients.


, Take into account clients' views and ensure our services:
, Facilitate, develop and support resident involvement and community development opportunities
, Ensure that all complaints are dealt with promptly and effectively in line with policy and procedure.
, Evaluate the service provided in order to demonstrate positive outcomes.
, Liaise with relevant local agencies and stakeholders in order to promote the service.
, Maintain an active working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the delivery of support services and housing.
, Oversee the allocation of our accommodation and ensure that this is in line with policy, procedures and the law.
, Manage minor repairs and void works through effective procurement and deployment of the Caretaking service.
, Ensure stock remains fit for purpose, in collaboration with the Property Services team.

The Candidate
To be considered for this Housing Services Manager role it is essential that you have previous experience in management of supported housing services as well as housing management and knowledge of recovery and housing benefits.

You will have experience working with vulnerable individuals from a range of support needs, including homelessness, mental health, substance abuse and older people.
As this role includes work with vulnerable individuals, you will require an Enhanced DBS on the update service.

The Contract
This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.

The contract will run for approximately 4-6 weeks, covering a period of sickness.
