Health & Safety Advisor
A Local Authority based in North London is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor - Streetscene to join their team.
This is a full-time temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have a full qualification in Health & Safety, ideally extensive experience within Streetscene/Highways teams, experience with data sets and compliance and ideally experience with local authority projects.
The main purpose of this Health and Safety role is to provide the Street Scene management and supervisory team with professional support in respect of health and safety compliance across the range of operational and professional functions provided by the service.
Be a point of contact for health and safety enquiries, provide initial health and safety advice to service managers and work in conjunction with the council's Safety, Health and Wellbeing team.
Manage the services health and safety data sets and records to support health and safety workload planning, performance and compliance monitoring and reporting
The main responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to the following;
Be a point of contact for health and safety enquires from the Street Scene management and supervisory teams providing competent advice and guidance as appropriate, liaising with, or referring items to the council's SHAW team where necessary.
To manage, update and maintain the Street Scene health and safety data sets and records and provide data and information to support performance and compliance monitoring
Coordinate and support the delivery of actions as detailed in the Street Scene health and safety action plan in accordance with published timescales.
Coordinate and support Service Managers and the Street Scene Management Team in delivering the Street Scene Health & Safety Framework and complying with Health & Safety requirements in the workplace.
Support the Health & Safety lead Officer and attend health and safety meetings to provide advice and guidance and to support the recording of decisions and action points.
To attend meetings and provide advice to Street Scene managers and supervisors about the use and functions of the SHaW software, and documentation required of it
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent Health and Safety Certificate
Experience of carrying out incident investigations and providing advice on remedial actions.
Experience dealing with Streetscene projects, data sets and compliance
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this role and as such are offering a rate of £34 p/hr Umbrella Ltd (Approx.
£800 p/week NET after deductions).
