Learning Disability Support Worker

Temporary Pay Rate:
, Standard Days: £11ph ltd
, Saturdays and Nights: £12ph ltd
, Sundays and Bank Holidays: £13ph ltd

Hours and length of contract:
, Contracts types available
o Temporary - 3+ weeks of shifts and on going
o Temporary to Permanent - 8 weeks temporary to permanent employment
o Permanent employment
, Full time and part time considered:
o Early: 07:00-14:00
o Late: 14:30-22:00
o Nights: 22:00 - 07:00
o Long days also available - 07:00-22:00

Daily Duties:
You will be working with one of the UK's leading providers of support for people with learning disabilities, autism and associated complex needs within a private residential service that supports 20 adults over 18 years of age.

These adults have profound learning difficulties in addition to some having physical disabilities, communication and sensory impairments and complex needs.

You will support these individuals to live as independently as possible and be active members of the community.
As a support worker you will provide high quality and compassionate care to the service users and responsible for their general well-being.

Daily duties include but are not limited to:
, supporting service users to plan and engage in activities in line with their individualised activity planner - e.g.

swimming, assisting with weekly shop
, Maintain the general health, wellbeing and emotional needs of service users - includes personal care (intimate care, attending health appointments, administering medication)
, Ensure the safety of the service users and that all concerns around safety and safeguarding are reported
, Administering medication when required
, Support new team members
, Supporting service users to keep in contact with family and friends
, Maintain accurate and detailed records - preparing and implementing care plans, risk assessments, writing daily reports, behaviour support documentation, health appointments and accident/incidents and completing other environmental records

The service is homely and provides communal areas to socialise in such as a living room, dining room and kitchen.

In addition to a hot tub and sensory room.

The service is not very easily accessible by public transport, and therefore a car driver is desirable.

Person specification:
The applicant must have recent experience of working with Learning Disabilities and be DBS cleared.
