Children's Residential Support Worker

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Children's Residential Support Worker on behalf of a private client.

The client runs a number of LAC Children's homes in the Stoke area working with children aged 7-17 years old.

and the successful will be able to choose their preferred location.

This is a permanent position with a salary of between £22,000-£24,000 per annum with additional pay for Sleep-ins.

The normal working pattern usually follows working for 2 days and then having 4 days off.

For example the shift pattern could be 8am-11pm followed by a sleep in and then another 8am-11pm shift followed by 4 days off.

Key responsibilities and duties of the role:

* To participate in the day-to-day operation of the service provided in accordance with the organisational guidelines and objectives guided by the various plans in place.

* To plan, manage and create a robust plan for each shift and to organise resources in line with shift expectations.

* To consistently promote a safe environment and safe working practices.

* To support the young people on social and educational activities and to support them in developing their learning and educational aspirations.

* To create a friendly and relaxed environment for the young people which encourages enjoyment, self-motivation, positive self-esteem and respect for themselves and others

* To support the young people to lead a healthy lifestyle in every aspect of their lives and provide guidance and support where required.

There will be an expectation to contribute to plans and assessments as requested.

* To prepare meals, encouraging and promoting healthy nutritional well balanced diets in accordance with Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Regulations.

* To be aware of Unity Residential Care Services guidelines on Code of Conduct and to consistently role model at the highest level.

To support those who are new in post to understand expectations and standards within the home.

Essential requirements for the role :

* A DBS from within the last 12 months

* NVQ Level 3

* Full clean driving licence

* Previous experience of working in a children's residential setting
