Holmes Indexer (Police)

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Holmes Indexer to work for a client based in Penrith, Cumbria.



The purpose of the role is to provide support using the HOLMES computer system in the investigation of Homicide and Major Enquiries.

Role Responsibilities:
-Accurately record information from a variety of internal/external sources to enable it to be processed on to the HOLMES computer.
-Analyse and cross reference information using the searching capabilities of HOLMES to identify links between different pieces of information and ensure its easy retrieval or research.
-Provide support and guidance to Police Officers of all ranks and new unit members to ensure consistent and accurate use of the HOLMES system.
-Interrogate the HOLMES database and supply information to assist SIOs to determine lines of enquiry.


-Assist the enquiry team to prepare a comprehensive court file to forward to CPS.

The post holder will work alongside the following:
-The Major Crime Policy
-Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984
-The MIRSAP manual
-CPIA.

It is essential candidates have an understanding of major incident room procedures.

As this role will require security clearance, it is essential that candidates have resided in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
