Ward Manager

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Ward Manager to work in an exceptional hospital based in the Edgbaston, Birmingham area.

As the Ward Manager you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers


This is a special rehabilitation hospital for women over the age of 18 that struggle with mental illness and personality disorder with complex needs


As the Ward Manager your key responsibilities include:

·         Being a clear leader for the nursing team on the ward

·         Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement

·         Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights  of others and promoting ethical practice

·         Mentoring, supporting and supervising, Nursing Team, Student Nurses and other members of the team

·         Promoting professional development within the team

·         Carrying out site coordination duties when required


An ideal Ward Manager must have these skills and experience as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Experience in a supervisory role

·         At least 3 years post registration experience

·         The ability to assess and teach junior staff

·         A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage health & safety issues

·         The drive to learn and develop

·         A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice


The successful Ward Manager will receive an excellent salary of £39,000 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
