Counselling/Clinical Psychologist

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Counselling/Clinical Psychologist to work in an exceptional residential college based in the Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire area.

As the Counselling/Clinical Psychologist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

 

This is a residential and day college which provides for learners aged 16-25 years who have learning difficulties, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties/disability

 

As the Counselling/Clinical Psychologist your key responsibilities include:

·         Receiving and responding promptly to meeting the identified needs of learners, undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme using appropriate and relevant approaches, activities and interventions supporting their educational programme

·         Working alongside colleagues in applying the most effective ways to measure impact

·         Managing an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with learners, professionals, colleagues and families

·         Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation.  Presents and shares relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned learners at weekly Multidisciplinary Team meetings

·         Contributing to multi-agency working encompassing the review of a learners Education, Health and Care Plan and learning programme

·         Working with the clinical lead to develop staff competencies and provide clinical supervision with a focus on supporting staff in their professional development and in reflecting on their practice

·         Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the learners

To be considered for this position you must be registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and will hold a doctorate in counselling or clinical psychology and be registered with HCPC
