Deputy Ward Manager

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Gosport, Hampshire area.

As a Deputy Ward Manager you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

This special service is rehabilitation and recovery service for males presenting with mental illnesses and complex needs, that are often accompanied by challenging behaviours

As the Deputy Ward Manager your key responsibilities include:

·         Supporting others to support vulnerable men to reach their full recovery potential

·         Being a clear leader for the Nursing team and managing shifts

·         Providing high quality care in a rehabilitation and recovery setting for men suffering from enduring mental illness

·         Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement

·         Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights  of others and promoting ethical practice

·         Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the  individual, and monitoring patient progress

·         Mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team

·         Promoting professional development within the team

 

An ideal Deputy Ward Manager must have these skills and experience as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Experience in a supervisory role

·         A recognised mentoring certificate

·         The ability to assess and teach junior staff

·         A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage Health & Safety issues

·         The drive to learn and develop

·         A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice

 

The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive and excellent salary from £31,000 up to £35,000 per annum DOE.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 40 hours a week.
