Lead Occupational Therapist

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional hospital setting based in the Edmonton, London area.

As the Lead Occupational Therapist you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers

This special hospital provides a full care pathway including medium secure and low secure units, along with an acute wing.

The full multidisciplinary team works with males who have a diagnosis of mental illness and associated challenging behaviours

As the Lead Occupational Therapist your key duties include:

·         Quickly assessing where a patient may require support and ensure these are addressed within risk assessments and care plans and make sure the patient is supported

·         Create links between the care team on the ward and the patient’s community team, ensuring that a proactive approach is taken towards planning for discharges by ensuring any community based assessments are completed in a timely manner

·         Take a proactive approach in supporting the wards within the hospital with monitoring any concerns amongst the patient group on the ward, ensuring the safety of patients at all times

·         Develop community links with projects which can benefit our patient group by offering courses and opportunities within a community setting

·         As the leader of the department, you will actively engage within the Clinical Governance of the hospital, attending meetings, providing feedback to other hospital leaders and working towards the agreed goals and objectives of the hospital

·         Have a good understanding of the forensic framework which underpins policies and protocols within a Medium Secure Hospital

·         Deliver supervision to members of your team on a monthly basis

 

The successful Lead Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary up to £38,000 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
