Deputy Manager

An excellent job opportunity has arisen for a committed Deputy Manager to join an exceptional care home based in the Exeter area.

As the Deputy Manager you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.

This special nursing home provides a home where older people can be helped to live as normally as possible and where the emphasis is on quality and enjoyment of life.

As the Deputy Manager your day to day duties include:

·         Responsible for all aspects of running the home in the absence of the Care Home Manager, accountable for the standard of care delivered within their home

·         Leading the clinical team on a shift by shift basis; directing support staff to ensure the delivery of quality care

·         Working closely with the Care & Nursing Team, relatives and other agencies to ensure person-centred care plans are in place that put the individual at the centre of all interactions

·         Ensuring dignity and respect are maintained at all times

·         Carry out duties in accordance with NMC guidelines

·         Leading the Care & Nursing Team on shift and providing clinical leadership, practice development, feedback and reflection to Registered Nurses and Care Assistants as well as new and developing members of staff


An ideal Deputy Manager must have these skills and experience as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Have a minimum of 1 year’s managerial experience of leading a care team in the care of older people, or related social care setting

·         Have evidence of continuing professional development

·         Have a working knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to Care Homes

·         Possess good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

·         Demonstrate the ability to lead, support and motivate a dedicated care team

·         Be able to take responsibility for the safeguarding of older people

·         To be committed to the ongoing training and development of your team


The successful Deputy Manager will receive an excellent salary of £21.50 per hour and the annual salary is £40,248 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role, working 36 hours a week.
