Temporary Accommodation Officer - Stevenage
A local authority in Stevenage is recruiting for a Temporary Accommodation Officer to to deliver a comprehensive housing management service to a portfolio of temporary and emergency accommodation which will include a range of schemes and tenures
The purpose of this role is to deliver a comprehensive housing management service to a portfolio of temporary and emergency accommodation which will include a range of schemes and tenures.
This service includes licence enforcement, letting of temporary and emergency accommodation, facilitating the move-on to general needs accommodation where appropriate and housing management tenancy sustainment support.
The tasks and responsibilities of the role will include:
, The letting of temporary and emergency accommodation
, To visit individuals in their homes to carry out safety checks.
, Where temporary or emergency accommodation is not available to place customers in appropriate short term accommodation
, Regular home visits to ensure terms of licence agreements are being maintained
, To instruct the Temporary and Emergency Accommodation Cleaners as and when necessary
, To undertake suitability assessments on accommodation offers where required
, To promote independent living skills through close liaison with Income and Support services to assist in supporting residents to be in the most independent level of housing they can achieve and enable tenancies to be sustained.
, To agree and regularly review a support plan completed by support services with each resident that will ensure their needs are met, carry out any follow up actions and monitor support outcomes.
To further work closely with Income to ensure appropriate action is taken.
, To liaise with the Housing Options and Supply as required.
, To liaise with Letting Advisers in order to facilitate move-on into generals needs in line with Allocations Policy
, To liaise with Support Officers to ensure clients are receiving the correct level of support from both internal and external support agencies
To be considered for this role, you will require previous experience within social housing and temporary accommodation.
You will need strong knowledge of homelessness, including the Homeless Reduction Act and of the support structure within social housing.
Additionally, it is essential you have good knowledge of safeguarding and have a clean DBS.
This is a full time role, for an initial 2 months.
There is a good chance the role will be extended.
