* * * Part Time Housing Project Worker - Westminster * * *

A large national charity is recruiting for a Housing Project Worker to support the team in Housing Management, Health & Safety, Void Management and referrals within a supported housing project for 20 male, ex-offenders in Westminster across two sites, on a part time basis.

The Role
This focus of this role is to manage a caseload of six clients, providing fortnightly structured key work sessions, as well as ad-hoc support to other clients.

Additional tasks and responsibilities will include:
, Facilitate regular consultation and action to enable service users to make decisions concerning their resettlement options with a view to independent living.
, Assist in arranging appointments with relevant professionals involved in the service users' support.
, Provide advice and assistance to service users on personal budgeting, and claims for welfare benefits with guidance from Senior Support Worker and/or Team Manager.
, Ensure that, where applicable, housing and property management tasks are effectively undertaken in line with procedure and targets.

Ensure that properties comply with property standards and are well maintained and equipped, undertaking all the required health & safety checks, taking any necessary redial action and carrying out minor DIY tasks.
, To ensure that routine property maintenance and damage is reported promptly to maintenance staff and to co-operate with them in meeting repair response times.
, To ensure the correct tenure and support agreement is issued and service users comply with these agreements, taking appropriate action in respect of non-compliance including non-engagement with support.
, Ensure that void time is minimised by taking a pro-active approach to ensure properties are re-let as soon as possible in line with targets.
, Maximise rent collection, ensuring successful housing and other welfare benefit claims are submitted and maintained, taking proactive action to minimise rent arrears in line with targets, monitoring the account and recording all actions and where necessary taking appropriate action when arrears arise in line with policy and procedure.

The Candidate
To be considered for this role, you will require strong housing management and housing support experience.

Any experience working with challenging or offending behaviour will also be beneficial.

The two schemes are a short bus journey apart so a driving license is not essential.

The Contract
This is a part time role, working 20 hours per week.

The hours are flexible and the contract is for an initial 12-week period, but is likely to be extended to June at least.


This is an urgent requirement and the manager is looking for candidates who will be able to start on 3rd February.
