Project Worker (Nights) - Lincoln
A large charity is recruiting for a Project Worker to provide overnight support at one of their housing schemes in Lincoln, for an initial 3-month contract.
This role is based within a supported housing scheme for young people aged 16-21.
The service runs 24/7.
The focus of the role is to deliver a high quality service to housing residents and be responsible for managing the safety and security of the building.
This will be delivered through the provision of a waking nights' service, including the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Act as an initial point of reference for Nacro service users and external agencies while on duty.
, Use the intranet (OneSpace), e-mail and other basic communication media as appropriate and where necessary.
, Implement night security systems, ensuring overall safety and security of the housing service and respond to faults as discovered.
, Monitor access to the services and visitors.
, Meet the requirements of health and safety policies and practices.
, Log and report incidents and anti-social behaviour.
, Carry out domestic tasks (cleaning communal areas) to a high standard ensuring that the immediate environment of the service user in relation to service provision is well maintained, clean, and tidy and assessed for any fire and health and safety risks.
This should be achieved by taking appropriate follow up action directly or through the relevant third party.
, Effectively record information.
Maintain up to date records and produce relevant reports as required.
Ensure handovers at the start and end of shift with operational staff.
To be considered for this role you will require experience of managing overnight security, in a residential housing project for excluded groups, including vulnerable/young people, as well as the following:
, Basic IT Skills (MS Office - mostly Word and Outlook)
, Ability to manage the safety and security of residents and buildings.
, Good verbal and written communication skills.
, Record keeping skills.
, Understanding of the need for confidentiality.
, Ability to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour.
, Able to follow written procedure and polices and work on own initiative.
, Confident in dealing with security issues and emergencies and able to adapt approach to suit a variety of situations, individuals and groups.
, Ability to work across a range of housing services.
This is a night role working 10.45pm - 8.15am on a 4 shifts on 4 shifts off basis - averaging 33.5 hours per week.
The initial contract is for 3 months, though there is the possibility of this role becoming permanent at the end of this contract.
