Qualified Social Worker - Disabled Children's Team, Newham
I am recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to work in the Disabled Children and Young Persons Team with Newham Council, based at Newham Dockside, Newham.
Assisting Newham Council fulfil its duties and responsibilities in relation to The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberties, Safeguarding and all other appropriate legislation.
Fundamental to fulfilling the responsibilities of this post is the ability to respond flexibly, positively and successfully to the ever-changing pressures which an integrated Health and Social Care service will face.
This Job Description is a guide to the level and range of responsibilities the post holder will be expected to undertake initially.

The primary purpose of this role is to:
, Take professional responsibility for a case load of statutory child care cases
, Ensure that every child/young person has a smart plan that ensures review and evaluation of outcomes.
, Contribute to improving the resilience and independence of Newham's children, young people and their families
, Ensure each child's personal record is maintained within the HCPC required standards.
, Lead the investigation of allegations of significant harm to children in consultation with the Practice Leader and other professionals.
, Progress plans for children appropriately and in accordance with supervisory and management instructions and with regard to budgetary cost
, Be responsible for making realistic child centred plans within a review timeline, that will manage and reduce identified risks and meet the needs of children
Salary: £33,948 to £42,684
Hours - 36 per week Mon- Fri

- HCPC / Relevant Qualification or Experience
- 2/3+ years Post qualified Experience
