Our clients seek an Account Manager to work with their Royston team.  The Account Manager will manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of existing customers by effectively communicating both commercial and technical information, coordinating internal departments and correctly administering appropriate processes.

Responsibility will be held for maintaining and growing allocated budget.  In coming new business will be allocated within the team, responsibility will be taken to convert the enquiry and manage the client on-going.

Account Manager Job Purpose:  


  • Reporting to the Head of Account Management
  • To manage and grow relationships with a portfolio of existing customers by effectively communicating both commercial and technical information, coordinating internal departments and correctly administering appropriate processes
  • Responsibility will be held for maintaining and growing allocated budget
  • Incoming new business will be allocated within the team, and responsibility will be taken to convert the enquiry and manage the on-going client

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of the Account Manager:  


  • Develop a deep understanding of customer’s needs, their people and how our client can support their business
  • Review customer spend with the client to determine year on year spend.
  • Increase spend year on year by working closely with the customers to achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly company sales targets and goals
  • Support the customer technically on new projects with support from the Technical Manager
  • Gather all necessary information accurately to ensure all project requirements can be fulfilled
  • Use company database systems to record and maintain customer information, and to manage orders
  • Supply customer briefs and technical information to the business, in the form of label specifications and job cards
  • Present information and solutions in an accurate, clear and professional manner
  • Work to and achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly Company sales targets and goals
  • Follow up on all quotes to receive a response from customers and maximise orders placed
  • Continuously look for methods to streamline workload
  • Display good time management skills
  • Prepare reports for customers as required
  • Support members of the team as required
  • To work within the remit of ISO9001, BRC & PS9000

Skills & Experience Required for this Position:


  • Good standard of education – ideally to degree level, or equivalent experience within the print & packaging industry
  • Internal Sales experience with the ability to up sell & cross sell
  • Solid numeracy skills and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills written & verbal) / problem solving skills
  • Pro-active and enthusiastic approach
  • Team player
  • Understanding & experience of ISO9001, BRC & PS9000 8.

    Experience of CERM or another MIS system would be advantageous


Package of the Account Manager  

Salary Subject to Experience   £23-£24k.

Hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch
