Location: Shefford, SG17
Work pattern: 37 hrs, Mon-Fri, 08:30 - 17:00
Start date: 22/04/2019
End date: 8 month contract
I'm currently recruiting for a Housing Register Officer to support the Housing Solutions Team.
You will be responsible for delivering Housing Options Services to customers by administrating the Housing Register process in line with legislation and the council's policies and procedures.
You will provide robust decisions on applications for affordable housing, including working with vulnerable people and external organisations.
You will accurately manage cases and maintain the housing register, allocating properties and advising customers.
In this role you will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle as you may be required to travel locally.
, To manage a caseload arising from customer enquiries and applications, providing accurate advice and guidance on the Housing Register process and allocations schemes.
, You will undertake telephone duty cover and deal face to face with esquires, providing a customer focused response and high standards of customer care.
, You will carry out accurate casework investigation, assessment, decision making on applications and advising applicants of outcomes in line with legislation and policy.
, You will ensure that customers are correctly banded and reviewed and that all the relevant data is entered onto the relevant systems.
, You will advise customers on the best and most appropriate solutions to housing problems.
, You will undertake all necessary processes to make nominations to Housing Association properties or those of other local authorities.
, A levels or equivalent qualifications.
, Experience of working in a Housing Association, Local Authority or a similar environment.
, Practical experience of the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures in a Housing environment.
, Some understanding and knowledge of Housing Allocations Schemes, Homelessness legislation and related case law.
, You will have experience of dealing with a diverse range of customers with complex needs in a challenging environment.
, A full driving license and access to own vehicle.
