Deputy Scheme Manager - Surrey
A large housing association are recruiting for three Deputy Scheme Managers for three of their locations in Surrey, one in Leatherhead and two in Dorking.
The focus of this role is to support the Scheme Manager in the day-to-day running of the scheme.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
, Check tenants well-being on a regular basis, frequency as directed according to the scheme
, Personally provide emotional support to tenants and recognise when other services or family need to be accessed to provide the support with diverse needs.
, Co-ordinate packages of care on behalf of tenants including
, Promote a community spirit within the scheme through encouraging, enabling and facilitating social events that meet the needs of diverse tenants, frequency as directed according to the scheme, and leading on liaison with families and friends.
, Be responsible for the security of the building, including checking it is secure on a daily basis, and ensure the scheme meets health & safety requirements and report all observed and/or reported maintenance and repairs needs to the housing team.
, Liaise with the housing management team to ensure that specified repairs, cyclical works, improvements, aids and adaptations are carried out satisfactorily.
, Liaison with care staff, including daily handovers, liaison over void flats and working together to organise social activity.
, Respond to emergencies.
This includes: Contacting emergency services, Providing first aid, Keeping a record of all emergencies attended to.
, Dealing with breakdown of services, e.g.
To be considered for this role you will require the following skills and experience:
, Knowledge of sheltered housing and its purpose
, Experience of working with vulnerable and or elderly people and an excellent understanding of the problems they face
, Ability to stay calm under stress and in emergency situations
, Ability to be self-motivating and to prioritise workload along with good organisational skills
, An understanding of the concept of professional boundaries
, Experience of Safeguarding Adults.
literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and general file management
, An understanding of Health & Safety and its application
, Knowledge & experience of support planning & risk assessments
, Willingness to attend all mandatory and on job training activities.
, Certificate in Supported Housing or similar
, First aid certificate
, Knowledge of the benefits system
These roles are available at three different housing schemes.
Two in Dorking (RH4 and RH5) as well as another in Leatherhead (KT23)
These are part time roles, working 10 hours per week (9:00 - 14:00 Saturday & Sunday)
The contract is for an initial 12 weeks but will likely be extended beyond that, or potentially go permanent.
