Specialist Clinician - Early Help

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for Outreach Learning Mentor based in the London Borough of Greenwich.

Purpose of Job:

Providing highly specialist assessments and delivering systemic targeted evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for children, young people and their families with multiple and complex needs including emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and mental health needs.

Providing consultation and specialist advice / clinical expertise to Early Help colleagues, parents / carers and other professionals, working autonomously within professional practice guidelines and under the guidance of a clinical supervisor (supervision arrangements tbc).

Teaching and training on appropriate topics as required

To participating fully in Early Help practice meetings and other individual and group case discussions to:
, provide therapeutic / psychological or other alternative insight regarding both explanations of a child, young person or parent's behaviour and also methods of working with them
, give valuable insight into strengths and weaknesses within the family and help early help colleagues think in a systemic, family centred way
, provide reflective consideration of different options for working with children, young people and families
, support early help colleagues to think about the network around the child and what may be the most appropriate support to address their needs

Making highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options taking into account a broad spectrum of theoretical and therapeutic models including systemic theory, social learning theory and as well as highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental factors.

Providing highly specialist clinical interventions to children, young people and families using evidence-based approaches; in particular CBT and family therapy, trauma-focused interventions, dyadic developmental psychotherapy and mentalisation-based therapies

Qualifications and Knowledge
, A UK recognised Psychology or Psychotherapy qualification, a Systemic Practitioner or Family Therapist or Nursing (RMN) / other relevant field.
, A minimum of one year post qualifying experience in delivering specialist therapies to children and families from a range of backgrounds.
, Evidence of continuing professional development in accordance with professional registration requirements and have completed advanced post-qualification training in relevant areas i.e.

CBT or Family Therapy, Trauma-focussed interventions, Functional Family Therapy, Mentalisation-based Therapy, Theraplay, VIG and/or Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy
, Current UK professional registration with the relevant body.
, Knowledge of legislation, policy and practice guidance as it relates to children's receiving statutory social work interventions
