We are looking for an experienced and skilled Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to support the unit in delivering therapeutic care to the women on our programme.

Our patients will present with challenging and complex needs, and our aim will be to promote a life worth living, with a supported return through their care pathway back into the community. Experience in working within a DBT model of care would be welcomed, although British Isles DBT training will also be available to the successful candidate.

The hospital is opening an exciting new specialist service in 2018, providing care for female patients aged 18 years and over, with a diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder.  The 10-bedded unit is currently under construction and will offer a bespoke, modern environment in which to provide a full Dialectical Behavioural Therapy model of care to our patients.

We are looking for proactive, enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist to support the unit in delivering therapeutic care to the women on our programme.

Our patients will present challenging and complex needs, and our aim will be to promote a life worth living, with a supported return through their care pathway back into the community.

Reporting to the Lead Psychologist (Adult Services), you will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative interventions and will have excellent skills in engaging with patients.  You will enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be fully involved in developing this new service.  You will have a high level of knowledge and skills in assessment and intervention with people with complex mental health needs, drawing flexibly on a range of models, theories and approaches in your work.

Equally important to the role is the provision of consultancy, supervision and training to colleagues and participation in research, evaluation and service development as appropriate.

Experience in working within a DBT model of care would be welcomed, although British Isles DBT training will also be available to the successful candidate.
