Engineering Manager

MP083 - OPERATIONS MANAGER / ENGINEERING MANAGER

Basic £40,000 - £47,000 DOE

Home based (sites based in London Z1-3; travel paid for)

Our client is an experienced and established organisation within the HVAC industry and for the past decade has expanded into FM Services specialising in commercial chiller, boilers and A/C.

Due to recent growth within the Energy Sector they are looking for a tenacious, driven and successful professional to join their team as an Operations Manager.

Reporting into the Operations Director you will need to have excellent man management skills, organisational skills, problem solving skills and communication skills.

Most of the sites are in Greater London and with a dedicated team backed up by their mobile Heating, Chiller and AC engineers they are greatly positioned to offer that customer service excellence they strive for.

Main duties and responsibilities:


  • To manage the day to day operation of the Energy Sector Department
  • Liaise with Clients, providing a single point of contact for all operational matters
  • To be responsible for the entire department in terms of recruitment and selection process
  • To motivate and manage the operational team (including all HR related tasks such as PDP, reviews etc)
  • To manage both the internal team and the external contractors to ensure routine services, maintenance and repairs are carried out on line with SLA’s
  • To ensure a consistent and high-level service delivery throughout all sites
  • Asset management and verification for new and existing sites
  • To build excellent relationships with clients including regular meetings as required
  • To conduct engineer and site audits on a regular basis
  • Form part of an on-call rota (this is to be the escalation point for any on call engineer that needs managerial approval or guidance)
  • Conduct Toolbox talks
  • Ensure profitability and where possible identify opportunities through the efficiency of the operation

Skills & qualifications required:


  • Will possess a strong understanding the HVAC systems (ideally within the energy centre environment, although not essential)
  • Be qualified in an engineering/building services discipline and experience in a similar role
  • Will have a full UK drivers Licence
  • Will ideally have a H&S qualification
  • Will have excellent team leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate, motivate and consistently delivery exceptional service
  • Will have excellent customer service skills and ability to cope with demanding and varied customer requirements
  • Be able to support and manage the overall operation of the department, financially, operationally and commercially with all initiatives that add value to our clients, occupiers and staff.
  • H&S conscious and driven to ensure H&S compliance  
  • Have a positive ‘Can Do’ attitude
  • Demonstrable experience of seeking out new opportunities within existing contracts
  • Be computer literate and have a good level of experience with CAFM systems
  • Be an excellent communicator and ambassador for the company

The ideal candidate will have excellent man management experience and be able to demonstrate leading a team of engineers.

 

The Salary/Benefits: 

£40,000 to £47,000 depending on experience
