Our client is an established Building services consultancy based in Hertfordshire who is looking for an accomplished Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.

The opportunity has come about due to the increase in projects and pipeline.


Role:


As an intermediate Electrical Design Engineer you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Electrical Design Engineer the project and carrying out services from inception/feasibility through to detailed and fully coordinated design.


As you will be working with a number of big named clients, it's important that you are representing the company when meeting clients and building relationships.


You will be expected to demonstrate your expertise on a number of projects in build sectors such as: Commercial, Residential (High Rise and Mixed Use), Education and leisure.

You will also have the opportunity to work on prestigious projects across stadia, hotels and retail parks.


Requirements:



  • You will have a relevant Degree in Electrical Design Engineering, minimum HND and preferably chartered CIBSE or IET.

  • AutoCAD experience (preferential but not essential).

  • You will have an excellent knowledge of building services and all stages of the design processes.

  • You will have experience or exposure to NES software, Dialux or Relux lighting design software and Amtech design software.

  • You must have previous consultancy experience within the UK construction sector.

    Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • You will have been responsible for meeting with clients, developing and producing reports on a daily basis in a previous position.

  • Excellent technical knowledge in your discipline

  • Thorough understanding of Building Services Design

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to motivate and manage a team

  • Experience in design and delivery of large to medium scale projects


Support and Training:


The engineer will be required to deal with projects predominantly in the UK from concept/feasibility stage, through design and construction to commissioning and handover under the guidance of a senior engineer.

The engineer will be trained and developed to achieve chartered engineering status.

Skills that will be developed include but are not limited to the following:



  • Lighting calculations

  • Cable calculations

  • Part L Compliance checking

  • Detail development of concept designs to include equipment selection and specification etc

  • Liaison with architects, clients, structural engineers and contractors

  • Project Management

  • Site inspections
