2nd Line VoIP / Network Support Engineer

A market leading communication solutions provider is seeking a VoIP network support engineer to join their team.

You will join the team at a prosperous time; my client is looking to build on an award winning 2011 as they look to grow their client base further this year.



You will provide support for a number of VoIP issues to various clients.

You will join the team at a prosperous time; my client is looking to build on an award winning 2011 as they look to grow their client base further this year.



You will provide support for a number of VoIP issues to various clients.

A thorough understanding of voice technologies will be required for this position, in addition to good knowledge of networking TCP/IP protocols and Cisco switches, firewalls and protocols.



As part of your daily activities, you will be resolving a number of voice and VoIP support queries for my client’s user base.

The majority of these will be 1st or 2nd line issues.

The support that you provide will predominantly be given remotely from my client’s ideally located head office.

However, you will also get the opportunity to visit client site to resolve and install hardware issues.

As such, you will be dealing with an array of clients and good communications skills are essential.



You will also get the opportunity to work on a number of exciting projects as my client is forever looking to upgrade to the very latest technologies.

You will configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user telecommunications hardware, telephony devices and voice hardware products.



Requirements

• Working knowledge of telephony systems and VoIP components.
• Good technical knowledge of VoIP practices, protocols and principles.


• Very strong communication and interpersonal skills.


• Good knowledge of networking TCP/IP protocols and Cisco switches, firewalls and protocols.
• Knowledge of VLAN configuration.
